As manu as 130 women attended the a one-day legal awareness programme organised by the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and the Social Welfare Department in association with The Golden Star Club, Pukhao Ahallup on Wednesday.

The awareness programme focussed on the Role of Women in Drug Prevention. Resource persons, project director, Kripa Foundation Ksh Jibonmala spoke on the topic ‘role of women in drug prevention’ while advocate S Nongpoknganba Meitei spoke on ‘Criminal law and women’ and advocate Th Rajkishore on the topic ‘women and family law’.

Chairperson in-charge of MSCW, Thumlip Tiningpgam Monsang; member of MSCW, Lourembam Dayabati Devi, member, MSCW, T Chuongsin Koireng; director, Social Welfare Ngangom Uttam Singh president, Golden Star Club Naorem Pakpa Meitei, were the presidium members of the function.
