Langsai Thouna submits memorandum to CM

Langsai Thouna Kakching demanded the removal of all the Kuki militants and illegal immigrants “who are attempting to break the territorial integrity of Manipur.”

Representatives of Langsai Thouna Kakching on Thursday called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh to submit a memorandum which includes several demands to resolve the Manipur crisis which erupted on May 3 and has been prevailing for the past six months.

Langsai Thouna Kakching, convenor Rajiv Kshetri told the media during a press conference at the office of Langsai Thouna at Kakching Lamkhai that during the discussions with the chief minister, they submitted the memorandum which included the demand to remove all the Kuki militants and illegal immigrants “who are attempting to break the territorial integrity of Manipur.”

It demanded that all the displaced families and individuals be allowed to return to their respective homes. It sought clarification on the agenda behind the deployment of large numbers of Central forces in Manipur, and further raised many demands.
