The Lamka Government College, New Lamka, on Thursday welcomed its new Principal in-charge during a charge-handing programme held at the office of the college’s principal which was witnessed by all the teaching and non-teaching staff.
On the occasion, the incumbent principal, T Awnzagen, handed over all charges to the newly appointed Principal in-charge, T Chingzaman who is the senior-most among the existing faculty members of the college.
The outgoing principal has a Master’s degree in Economics from JNU and joined the college on April 2, 1979 and then took charge as the College principal from March 1, 2021 until his superannuation on January 31, 2024.
During his tenure as principal, the college did well and had set up an IGNOU Centre at the campus which had been applauded by students who can’t turn up for regular class.
