A labourer, who was painting a window at the second floor of a building located at Babupara under Imphal Police Station in Imphal West, died after he fell to the ground around 2.30 pm Wednesday, sources said.

The deceased has been identified as one Roktim Sarkar, 36, son of (L) Mahindra Sarkar from Cooch Behar in West Bengal and was presently residing at Uripok in Imphal West. He was rushed to RIMS but succumbed to his injuries, the sources said. 

Imphal Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident, while the body has been handed over to family members after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS Mortuary police said.
