Kukis serve ultimatum over arrests

Major Kuki-Zo bodies have condemned the arrests of Philip Khongsai and Hemkholal Mate in connection with the killing of a police officer in Moreh last year.

Major Kuki-Zo bodies have condemned the arrests of Philip Khongsai and Hemkholal Mate in connection with the killing of a police officer in Moreh last year.

Claiming that the two are executive members of Kuki Inpi, the Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal has also served a 24-hour ultimatum to release two.

Vehemently denying the allegations of Manipur police, KIT clarified that such false allegations and arrest of innocent persons as killers of SDPO Chongtham Anand Singh as baseless and false.

KIT also demanded the release of the two within 24 hours, failing which it would invite serious repercussions.

Meanwhile, ITLF and CoTU have also vehemently condemned the detention of two persons.

The two bodies demand the immediate and unconditional release of the duo while cautioning that if they are not freed within 48 hours, it will not allow the one-sided communal government favouring only the Meiteis to function in Kuki-Zo areas.
