A 62-year-old Kuki man was rescued from Imphal East by the locals and handed over to police, sources said on Sunday.

According to the sources, the man was seen beating a steel plate and roaming around in the Pukhao Naharup area under Sagolmang Police Station in Imphal East district around 6:30 am Sunday.
The elder man is reportedly "mentally challenged". He has been identified as Seilun Guite (62), son of (L) Pailun Guite of Sadang village in Kangpokpi district under Saikul Police Station.

After he was handed over the Sagolmang Police Station, he was later handed over to the OC Saikul Police Station in the presence of Dolaithabi 18-AR and 2/8-GR, the sources said.
