The Kuki Students' Organisation Moltam Block has decided to suspend its ongoing blockade along the National Highway 37 (Imphal-Jiribam) road with immediate effect following an agreement between the student body and the state government at New Keithelmanbi Police Station on Thursday.
The KSO Moltam Block had imposed an indefinite blockade since midnight of November 9 in connection with the torching of NHIDCL's excavator between Bijang village and Thanglongbung village under New Keithelmanbi Police Station on November 7 by some unidentified armed group suspected to be cadres of the NSCN (I-M).
The student body had earlier warned to impose an indefinite blockade if the perpetrators committing the crime are not booked within 24 hours and subsequently imposed the blockade since the culprits are booked within the stipulated time.
