The Kuki Students’ Organisation, General Headquarters has urged the Director of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur to change the place for document verification for newly appointed Assistant Professors (contract) in respect of Churachandpur and Kangpokpi district.
The top Kuki student body wrote to the Director of university and Higher Education, Rangitabali Waikhom, following the recent notification regarding the verification of the original educational certificates or documents for the candidates selected as Assistant professors on a contract basis under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Manipur.
As per the notification, the verification has been scheduled at the Directorate of University and Higher Education located in the capital of Manipur, Imphal.
While appreciating the efforts undertaken by the concerned department to ensure thorough verification, the KSO-GHQ drew the attention of the authority concerned about certain logistical challenges the selected candidates from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi District may face while traveling to Imphal West for the said verification.
The Education Secretary of KSO General Headquarters, Thangmoi Haokip said that considering the geographical spread, law-and-order situation, and logistical challenges “we urged the authorities concerned to change the venue for verification of certificates or documents in respect of selected candidates from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi district”.
He said they have proposed that the verification process for the selected candidates from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi be conducted in their respective places, with the respective Deputy Commissioner overseeing the process in their jurisdiction.
He continued that this adjustment will not only ease the burden on the candidates but also streamline the verification process, ensuring timely completion without undue inconvenience.
Nineteen candidates from the Churachandpur district and five candidates from Kangpokpi were selected as Assistant Professors on a contract basis under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Manipur.
