Kshetrimayum Biren, former Congress MLA of Lamlai constituency, who shifted to the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), filed nomination on Saturday as a JD-U candidate from the same AC for the Manipur Assembly Election 2022.

Speaking to mediapersons, Ksh Biren said many joined the JD-U with the trust of winning the election after being denied BJP tickets. So a JDU-led government would hopefull be formed in 2022.
Although it is yet to confirm who his nearest rival in Lamlai constituency is, he expressed the hope that he would get 20,000 voters from Lamlai AC.
