Kom Tribe Organisations Valley (KTOV) on Tuesday, strongly condemned the assault on KT Kom, 58, and the firing of rounds in Ichum Kom village under Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district.

Kom Tribe Organisations Valley (KTOV) on Tuesday, strongly condemned the assault on KT Kom, 58, and the firing of rounds in Ichum Kom village under Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district.

The attack was reportedly carried out by armed miscreants from the Kuki community on May 4, stated a release signed by secretary of information and publicity T Torngampa Kom.

KT Kom belongs to the Kom tribe exclusively and reiterates the tribe’s identity and integrity, it stated.

KTOV declared that “the Kom tribe will remain as the Kom tribe without any alteration,” it added.

KTOV further appealed to the authorities concerned to swiftly apprehend the culprits responsible for the assault, ensuring justice for the victim and restoring peace in the region.
