KNLA cadre arrested in Imphal

The arrested person has been handed over to City police station for further necessary legal action.

A team of special commando unit arrested one active cadre of an underground outfit Kuki National Liberation Army (KNLA) from Jiri Parking at around 6.10 pm on Wednesday.

Based on an input received from 16 Assam Rifles regarding the presence of one suspected person at Jiri parking area, a team of special commando rushed to the said area. The team was led by subedar L Bebekananda Singh under the guidance of SP/Railway and in-charge of special commando unit Khabeisoi.

The team detained a person who was identified as one Hendavida, 35, son of Lunkham of Torbung, Churachandpur district.

On questioning, he disclosed that he is an active member of KNLA and working under the command of one Angamkhogin Kipgen and Tinthang Haokip of the same outfit. The person was arrested on the spot and a mobile phone and Rs 2,020 in cash were seized.

The arrested person and the seized items have been handed over to City police station for further necessary legal action.
