Manipur scurity advisor Kuldeip Singh said, individuals involved in the killing of SDPO Chingtham Anand, MPS have been identified and full efforts are underway to arrest them.
Kuldeip Singh was talking to media-persons on Widenesday at the sidelines of the wreath laying ceremony of the slain officer Ch Anand.
Last floral tributes led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh were paid to the late SDPO Ch Anand Kumar at the Manipur Police Memorial, 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion in Imphal on Wednesday.
Full state honours were given to the slain officer, in which members of his family also attended.
Following a meeting held at CM Secretariat between the chief minister and JAC of Late Ch. Anand Kumar, the lifeless body of the late MPS officer was accepted by the families as per the assurance of the chief minister to the families and JAC.
Members of JAC and his family had earlier refused to take the body of Ch Anand till his killers are booked,
The lifeless body was brought from the Morgue of JNIMS in Imphal East and taken on the streets towards the Police Memorial Site at 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion.
State chief secretary Vineet Joshi, Security Advisor Kuldeip Singh a host of high ranking officers of police and various security agencies of state and central forces attended the wreath laying ceremony.
While speaking to the media CM N Biren Singh said, SDPO Anand was a brave and patriotic officer and every Indian should feel proud of him.
“Anand was killed in a cold-blooded cowardly manner”, the CM said, adding that the government has taken the matter very seriously.
He said joint combing operations of commando, IRB, Army and Assam Rifles have already started.
The CM said the combing operations will continue till all the culprits are caught.
Security Advisor Kuldeep Singh said that the person(s) and the group that were involved in the cold-blooded murdered of SDPO Ch Anand has been identified and expressed hope that they will be arrested soon.
More security forces have been sent to Moreh since Tuesday. However, during the movement of security forces towards Moreh, they were ambushed by some arm miscreants in which three security forces were injured.
