MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Tribal Affairs and Hills, Horticulture; Soil Conservation Minister Letpao Haokip and Khangshim village chief and celebration committee chairman Aangshim Tontang attended the event organised by the village authority as presidium members.

Minister Letpao hoisted a flag to mark the day and MP Sanajaoba raised the curtain for a stone structure. Cultural dance and songs graced the celebration. A souvenir was also released at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Sanajaoba extended his greetings to the people of Khoibu community on their Golden Jubilee celebration and appreciated them for still preserving their identity and culture. He appealed to the people not to be westernised but to be mordernised in identifying one’s culture.

Minister Letpao Haokip said that the people of Khoibu community are very hard working and creative despite their smaller population. This particular community will soon be recognised by the India government, he added.

Stating that all the communities residing in the state are one, Letpao appealed to the public to refrain from playing politics based on communal lines. He also appealed to all the indigenous communities of the state to unite among themselves for a better Manipur.
