The Thadou Students Association (TSA) has refuted KSO's statement in the news report titled ‘KSO scans conditions of 7 IQCs, 4 CQCs’ published in local dailies on Thursday and issued a rebuttal to it, urging the punlic against being misled.
Strongly refuting the KSO's statement, the TSA stated in a release that the assignment of food arrangements for seven Institutional Quarantine Centres (IQC) is totally false and unwarranted. The release was issued by secretary (MIP) Kamsanglen Singsit.
Clarification can be sought from the district administration, the TSA stated
The volunteers of TSA and Motbung Women Union (MWU) have been tirelessly helping in the carrying of food and the professional cook arranged by the district administration at the Baptist English High School, Motbung since June 1, after centralisation of catering for 7 IQCs at the vicinity of Motbung Village, it said.
Therefore, menu and food quantity supplied to inmates is not related to the TSA/MWU, the release added.
Upon inquiry, regarding Damdei Christian College IQC, it was found that MLA, Saitu assembly constituency Ngamthang Haokip has strongly objected to the centralization of catering for seven IQCs, it said.
The TSA general headquarters in the absence of TSA-Sadar Hills has been categorically assisting the Kangpokpi district administration during this pandemic and will continue to endure them in all possible ways in combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the district, it said.
Without verifying the authenticity of the report, one should not issue such press statements hereafter in the future, the release stated.
The general public is also advisable not to be misguided by such false claims/reports prepared by the KSO and appeals to everyone to understand the genuineness of TSA’s contribution in combating this pandemic, it added.
