Denizens of Kangpokpi town have extended monetary assistance to the injured minor of the infamous B Gamnom's firing of October 12, 2021 through a philanthropic organisation, the Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi (KKL), who are taking care of the boy's medical treatment.
Initiated by a local journalist Kaybie Chongloi, in collaboration with the Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organisation and Kanggui Youth Union with the permission of the Kangpokpi Town Committee, crowdfunding was organised at Kangpokpi town on April 19 to help the poor minor boy who is currently hospitalised at Mother's Care Hospital, Imphal.
The boy, battling for his life, is one among the several injured in the infamous B Gamnom firing while his elder brother, unfortunately, died on the spot with others.
The minor was treated at JNIMS, Imphal where one bullet was retrieved from his stomach while another one remained at the spinal cord. A few weeks back, he was brought to the same hospital and later shifted to Mother's Care Hospital where another operation was conducted but it is still dangerous to take out the bullet at his spinal cord.
Following the heavy medical treatment, the family had exhausted all their resources and it was when the philanthropic organisation KKL began to look after the boy's treatment.
A sum of Rs 66,965/ generated was handed over to the representatives of KKL at the Kangpokpi Town Committee office on Thursday by the Chairman, KTC Angam Leivon, and KWWO President Hekim Hangshing including KYU Vice President Kamgougin Lunkim.
