In a soul-stirring event, Christian women in Kangpokpi district on Sunday prayed for their people and for those against them under the scorching heat despite churches, the core of the Christian belief, unfortunately burned down in the present Manipur crisis.

Hundreds of Christian women, including internally displaced persons whose churches have been burned down, congregated at Saparmeina village in Kangpokpi district and had a mass prayer seeking God's blessing for their people and for the people who are against them and who inflicted them.

The Christian women prayer goers also sought global attention to join them in prayer for the internally displaced persons and inflicted people from both the communities in the state.

Deinou, one of the Christian women participating in the prayer, said that their place of worship, the core of their belief has been ruined, but they stood together and prayed for themselves, their people, and the people who inflicted them.

"We could not find our families any longer, and we don't know their whereabouts. However, no matter the circumstances of not having a place over our heads, not having a place to go to, and not having a Church to call our own, and not having a home we can dwell in, we have come together and prayed under the burning sun for peace, and God's blessing for our people and the people who are against us", she added.

She continued that today, they stand together praying for peace and for all the people who have stood against them while adding that they may come against them but they pray for their better future.

"May they [people who stood against them] find peace and blessing", she asserted.

Deinou then sought global attention in helping the internally displaced persons in the state of Manipur.

"Kindly look at us, help in all possible ways. I don't know how you would do that but please join with us in prayer", she urged.
