Kangpokpi: 150 people vaccinated in Yaikongpao village

Apart from the vaccination drive, the Covid task force also conducted sealing of containment areas where two new positive cases were detected at Tumnoupokpi village on Saturday.

As many as 150 people were vaccinated in the vaccination drive for the age group 18 to 44 years at Yaikongpao village on Saturday. It was organised by the Covid task force Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi in collaboration with the district medical department and the District police.

With two more new positive cases detected today in the district, the active cases stood at 78.

As directed by MLA Nemcha Kipgen in the recent review meeting, arrangement for food and refreshment for the health workers and other frontline workers engaged in the vaccination drive were provided by the Yaikongpao Village Authority and the Covid task force Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi.

Apart from the vaccination drive, the Covid task force also conducted sealing of containment areas where two new positive cases were detected at Tumnoupokpi village on Saturday.

Chairman Covid Task Force Yaikongpao-Tumnoupokpi M John Thangal conveyed sincere gratitude to the local MLA for her diplomatic strategies and concern towards the people of Kangpokpi assembly constituency.

He said that Yaikongpao Tumnoupokpi area has become the first to conduct the vaccination drive among the Covid task force under Kangpokpi assembly constituency. “We can successfully accomplish the drive with cooperation and support of the local MLA,” he said.

Meanwhile, Covid task force Keithelmanbi, Kangpokpi, Tujang, Irang Area and Parsain also continued with various preventive measures. Some were engaged in helping the health workers in retesting of persons under home isolation, and enforcement of Covid appropriate behaviours in their respective areas.

Fire personnel of Kangpokpi were also engaged in the sanitisation of various locations including Hospital area and health centres in Kangpokpi assembly constituency. District Hospital Kangpokpi was also sanitised by the fire personnel in collaboration with the Covid task force Kangpokpi.
