Kakching assembly constituency MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar on Saturday inspected Kakching Ethei Maru, a spillway of Ethei Dam which has been providing water to the fields for carrying out agricultural activities.
Minor Irrigation department Lamphel executive engineer Dayanand Thounaojam and Ethei committee members accompanied the MLA during his inspection visit.
Speaking at his visit, the MLA said that Kakching Ethei Maru has been providing great assistance to the farmers by supplying water to the fields. He added that the inspection visit was to take up steps to renovate Ethei Dam under various state and central sponsored schemes.
He assured to fulfill the wants of the people and also appealed to the people to avoid encroachment at the banks of the spillway.
