Kabui Union Manipur on Thursday expressed gratitude for opening a girl’s hostel dedicated to Haipei Rani Gaidinliu at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

The hostel was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education RK Ranjan, stated a release. He also recalled the valour and sacrifices of Rani Gaidinliu and also urged the people to encourage and uplift the womenfolk, it stated.

It also mentioned and thanked the acknowledgement given by the Indian government to Rani Gaidinliu, who is a trueborn daughter of Manipur. It further added that people fondly remember Rani Gaidinliu on her birth anniversary observed every year on January 26.
