Refuting the allegation raised by state BJP president, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) vice president Hareshwar Goshwami on Sunday said Kabow valley was given away not during the Congress period but by the British rulers in 1834 before the formation of Congress party in India.

Goshwami told the media on Sunday at its state party head office, BT Road, Imphal that Indian National Congress (INC) was formed by a British Political reformer Allal Octavian Hume (AO Hume) on December 28, 1885. However, the state BJP president alleged that Kabow valley was disintegrated from Manipur during the period of Congress.

Countering the allegation of the state BJP president, Goshwami questioned state BJP why Prime Minister commented on the viral video of Manipur and but went silent when a rape victim from Meitei community is highlighted by the media.

During his response on the Parliamentary floor in his response to ‘No Confidence Motion’, why the Prime Minister sidelined all the heinous crimes that were committed during the crisis where hundreds of people were killed, he questioned.

After the video of two women being paraded naked went viral, Prime Minister made his condemnation on the parliamentary floor, the Governor of Manipur rushed to Churachandpur district and consoled the victims. But why the Governor is still silent on the Meitei rape victim, he questioned.

The BJP government should respond to the public as to why the government still failed to take any action to find out the whereabouts of the two students that have been missing since July 6, he added.

While responding to the ‘no confidence motion’ on the Parliamentary floor, Modi delivered his speech for nearly 2 hours blaming the Congress party. However, Modi commented hardly 2 minutes on the most awaited answer from him regarding the issue of Manipur by ignoring the word ‘separate administration’, Goshwami said.

“If the union home minister assured the ministers and MLAs of Manipur that there will be no ‘separate administration’ in Manipur, then why did he not make the statement on the Parliamentary floor,” MPCC questioned.

MPCC further questioned why the BJP MPs from Manipur were silent during the whole Parliament session though the MP of Mizoram could defend the allegation of the Union Home Minister.

Goshwami said people already witnessed that Kuki militants and the BJP party has a nexus which has been mentioned in an affidavit signed between UKLF and some BJP central leaders. Why the state BJP president failed to clarify on the issue, he questioned.

While signing of SoO agreement during the Congress period, there was no such issue of ‘separate administration’ inside the state of Manipur, he said. The various clashes that occurred during the Congress period in Manipur did not harm territorial integrity of Manipur unlike the clash that is going on during the BJP government, said Goshwami.
