Jwalamukhi Battalion provides medical assistance to 700 villagers

It is reported that around 700 people who attended a prayer cum feast at Chalwa village, Kangpokpi district on Friday night were food poisoned.

Jwalamukhi Battalion provided critical medical aid to villagers of Chalwa village who were food poisoned during a cultural feast in the village thus saving innocent lives.

It is reported that around 700 people attended a prayer cum feast at Chalwa village, Kangpokpi district at around 6.30 pm on Friday night.

After attending the feast, at around 8 pm of the same day people who attended the feast started complaining of abdominal pain and vomiting. 

Civil society organisations and other imminent residents approached Company Operating Base (COB) Gelnel to seek urgent medical aid. Medical staff of COB Gelnel, Jawalamukhi Battalion, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) immediately provided life-saving drugs to the affected villagers.

Several life-saving injections were given to some critical patients and on thorough examination by the medical team, they confirmed that the villagers made the complaint due to food poisoning.

Later, villagers of Chawa village thanked Jalwamukhi Battalion for providing immediate assistance to the villagers.
