Judgment on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against norms: DCCC

The District Congress Committee, Churachandpur said the ruling against Rahul Gandhi shows the dictatorial attitude of the BJP government.

Reacting against the judgment on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the District Congress Committee, Churachandpur on Friday stated that the judgment was taken against all norms.

Addressing the press at the residence of former minister and working president of PCC, T Manga Vaiphei, located at Red Cross Road, Churachandpur, the committee said that the judgment meted out at their leader, Rahul Gandhi, was against all norms.

DCCC president Chongbiak, in the company of T Manga Vaiphei and PCC member H Mangchinkhup Paite, said that the ruling against their leader shows the dictatorial attitude of the BJP government and called it a circus as the General Election will be held next year.

It is a baseless attempt to silence Rahul Gandhi in Parliament who voiced the link between the Adani group and the BJP, he added.

Veteran Congress leader T Manga Vaiphei said that the peaceful press conference was held as directed by the AICC in all districts saying that after being sentence to two-year imprisonment the Speaker of Lok Sabha, within 24 hours, had stripped off the memberships of the Congress leader and an ordered to vacate his Quarter.

This is an act of dictatorship devoid of all democratic norms like Freedom of speech and other fundamental rights, he voiced.

H Mangchinkhup Paite said that the action on the Congress leader is proof that, though we call ourselves the largest democracy in the world, our fundamental rights are at the edge and collapsing under BJP govt.

He said that the alleged speech on Modi by Rahul Gandhi was not against all the Modis or was not communal and the action taken against him was not acceptable.

Paite also said that the attack and sentencing of the Congress Party leader may be the first  of such sentences in the history of India, adding that the Congress party will not keep lying down.
