The Joint Students’ Body (JSB), Lamka on Friday went on a marathon government offices locking exercise, following their ultimatum served to the state government to cancel the suspension order of three officials from the Education department.
The student body also organised a rally on Thursday, demanding re-affiliation of the 25 schools to the CBSE and others.
The student body locked all government offices including the office DC of Churachandpur and Pherzawl district, SDO office of different sub divisions and the ADCC office where they pasted posters which read, ‘No CBSE, No rest’.
The JSB Lamka first locked the main entrance of the DC of Churachandpur campus and proceeded to other government offices. However, on learning security forces had opened the lock at DC Churachandpur office, they went back and locked the main gate of the DC office building gate again.
JSB Lamka secretary Samual Taithul said that their action was a follow up of the rally on Thursday. It is imperative for them to close down all government offices as the de-affiliation of 25 CBSE schools in Churachandpur and Kangkpokpi was due to the state government political interference, he said.
He further said that their actions are also a protest against the burning down of various schools at Moreh.
