Afaque Ahmed Khan said that JD-U believes in development and justice, and they have MLAs in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh state. It is time for Manipur to act, he said, promising that they will make sure the map of Churachandpur district holds a prominent place in Delhi, if given the mandate, through their leader Nitish Kumar whom he said does not need introductions.

While announcing the weaker sections like women are their priority all over India, he further assured that the JD-U candidate from Churachandpur Assembly constituency will get a ministerial berth, if elected, as they are alliance partners at the Central government.

“The acceptance of the party had been soaring recently as shown by the decision of four sitting MLAs of Manipur Assembly constituency taking the party ticket, including the joining of the former chief secretary of Manipur O Nabakishore and now, the longest servings DGP of Manipur LM Khaute who all are convinced by the party’s belief in secularism that is through deeds and not words,” he said.

After the scrutiny of candidates was carried out, it emerged that there will be seven candidates who will contest in six different party tickets with one contesting as an independent candidate in Churachandpur Assembly constituency.
