JD-U confident of playing major role in Manipur's new government formation

Janata Dal-United national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh is confident that his party will win at least seven seats in the Manipur State Assembly election 2022.

Janata Dal-United national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh on Saturday exuded confidence that the party will win at least seven seats in the Manipur State Assembly election 2022 and play a major role in the formation of the new government.

Addressing the one day 'The Mega Political Assembly' held at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound, Imphal East, the national president of JD(U) said that Bihar has been developing ever since the JD-U came to power under Nitish Kumar.

Informing that Bihar has given 50 per cent priority to women under the objective of women empowerment, the Lok Sabha MP also said that Bihar is the only state in the country that has given priority to women from rural level to urban level.

In Bihar, various developmental works, including electricity, road connectivity, women empowerment and social harmony have been brought by the JD-U government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

Likewise, a similar kind of development is needed in Manipur, Rajiv Ranjan said.

The national president of JD-U also hit out at the Manipur government stating that it has been neglecting the potential of youths and sports.

The state has adequate potential of mineral and natural resources which the state government has left unnoticed. If the potentials of Manipur are utilised cautiously the state will become a well-developed state and the unemployment issue will be reduced, he added.

To bring about a change in the state, JD-U will take part in the formation of a new government in 2022 with not less than 7 (seven) MLAs, he exuded confidence.

He said the first priority of JD-U will be promotion in the sports sector which will be followed by promotion of farmers.

If JD-U becomes a part of the next government then it is assured that within 6 months Autonomous District Council (ADC) election will be conducted so that political power could reach to each section of people.

With the support of people, if JD-U becomes a part of the upcoming government then the party will press the state government to start utilising natural resources properly to reduce the unemployment issues in Manipur, said the national president.

He also assured that if the party has support from the public in the upcoming state legislative assembly election, he assured that the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act will be repealed completely.

The national president was honoured with traditional Manipuri head gear by the state JD-U president, Hangkhanpao Taithui.

The national president of the party along with state president in presence of national general secretary, JD-U and in-charge North East, Afaque Ahamed Khan; national secretary, JD-U and in-charge Manipur, Ramprit Mandal; state president, Arunachal Pradesh, Ruhi Tarung hoisted the party flag as a part of the programme.
