Demanding to book the culprits, the ‘JAC against the brutal killing of Akoijam Nonganba alias Aging’ along with locals staged a one-day sit-in-protest at the community hall of Kwakeithel Konjeng Awang Leikai, Imphal West on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, JAC convenor Thounaojam Ashalata said the JAC demands justice for Nonganba as he was found dead under mysterious circumstances.

Nonbanba’s body was found at Changoubung village which is located at a distance of 3 km from Kangpokpi Police Station in Kangpokpi district at around 2.30 pm on Sunday.

She said that according to eyewitness accounts, Nonganba went out from his residence along with one Thokchom Sonia on Saturday. Nonganba did not return on Saturday and family members thought that he might be staying at his resort called ‘Cicada’. However, one person called his mother over the phone and informed her that Nonganba’s body had been found at Changoubung village.
