Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Chandel and One Stop Centre Chandel celebrated the International Youth Day 2022 on Saturday.
It was celebrated by bringing together over 150 children and youths from nine different communities from Tengnoupal and Chandel districts for a day of sports at SBS Turf, Khopinom where a series of football and frisbee matches were organised.
The children and youth began the day by honouring the theme for this year’s Youth Day – ‘Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages’ by making placards about anti-ageism, gender equality, and the need for people of all ages to work together to bring about change.
They carried the placards during a walk from CWG office Lhunnajang to SBS Turf Khopinom that was flagged off by district youth officer of NYK Chandel Michael Mate.
