The seventh Central Agricultural University (CAU) Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival cum Games and Sports Meet 2023 was held at College of Agriculture, Iroisemba in Imphal on Monday.
The three-day long event (youth festival) is being organised with an aim to bring together the youths of different constituent colleges under CAU, Imphal, belonging to different states of India on a single platform and provide them the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Vice-chancellor of CAU, Imphal, Anupam Mishra, inaugurated the festival cum games and sports in the presence of DI of CAU, S Basanta.
The inaugural function began with a cultural procession. It was a display of the rich cultural heritage of India.
The inaugural was attended by director of extension education, CAU, Ph Ranjit Sharma; professor K Mamocha; controller of CAU, Ananthashayanam K; OSD (finance) H Chaoba of the CAU, Imphal.
Around 238 boys and 204 girls from 13 constituent Colleges of CAU, Imphal will compete in different games, literary and cultural events which includes different items of sports.
