Ahead of the presidential elections of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), four intending candidates have filed their nomination papers on Tuesday.
The candidates who are in the fray are SA. Ramnganing, former president Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long; Yangmi Khapai, former president Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong; Sword Vashum, retired IAAS and ex-Congress MLA candidate and Vareshang Zingkhai, social activist.
The Tangkhul Naga Long, the apex community organisation, is scheduled to hold its presidential election on May 22; the counting and result will also be announced on the same date.
Scrutiny will be held on May 16 while withdrawal is slated for May 18.
It may be mentioned that TNL had set May 21 for “public platform” wherein intending candidates will share their mission statement.
