A two-day long Silver Jubilee Celebration of Inpui Naga Women's Union (INWU) was held under the theme of ‘Weaving Dreams and Dignity’ at Nungtek Village in Noney district of Manipur.
The programme began with a jubilee hall dedication and flag hoisting by Meikhemlu Khumba, the first convenor INWU and followed by presentation of folk song and guard of honour by Nungtek-1 Women Union.
Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei attended the inaugural session as chief guest while Former MDC Tamenglong Ramningle Pame attended the event as a guest of honour.
In his chief guest speech, Janghemlung Panmei expressed his gratitude to the Inpui Naga Women's (INWU) for inviting him to attend the celebration as a chief guest.
He congratulated the Inpui Naga Women's (INWU) for organising the programme and encouraged all the members of the Women's Union.
He also delivered his speech about the topic of ‘Women's Empowerment’ and maintained that celebrating this Silver Jubilee should not go in vain. “Let our actions lead the society as role models for the betterment of the young generation in the days to come, he added.
Founder, TBWC Dina Khumba Irungbam was the main speaker of the celebration and she delivered a speech on ‘Weaving Dreams and Dignity’.
President Inpui Naga Women's (INWU) Shanti Bariam addressed the presidential speech and shared the brief history of Inpui Naga Women’s Union. She thanked all the delegates who came from far and near to attend the auspicious occasion.
The jubilee monolith was unveiled by former president INWU Luriang Khumba in the presence of all the delegates.
Naga Women's Union (NWU) teams led by Asha Wungnam and other Naga Tribe Women's Union also attended the jubilee celebration.
