The NSCN (I-M) on Monday stated that the US and the Indian government aiding the militia called PDF (People's Defense Force) to overthrow the junta government in Myanmar is now an open secret.

As far as the conflict in Myanmar is concerned, NSCN (I-M) is not indifferent to the ethnic communities and their movement in particular, and has no issue against the PDF of Chin state and other areas, stated a release signed by director, publicity and information bureau major general Hanleishang-MC.

“We are also aware of the fact that the KNA (B) have been collaborating with the PDF in the Chin state, to which we have no objection. However, it is highly unfortunate that the KNA (B) have taken inimical stance against the NSCN, deliberately targeting the Naga Army operating in the area. In an inhumane and unprofessional manner, they had abducted and tortured to death some of our cadres, as per confirmed source,” it stated.

The sinister hands of the Indian Intelligence (RAW) became obvious when, at their instigation, troops of Para Forces and Assam Rifles were pumped in across the border who armed the Kuki militants with drones, artillery and other sophisticated weapons, it stated.

“This again exposes the double-standard characteristic of India's foreign policy, when in the earlier instances, Indian Army helped the Tatmadaw (Myanmarese Army) to destroy our base camps in the border areas, but now they are at loggerheads,” it further stated.

One may wonder what India has to gain by waging this proxy war; It is left to the wisdom of her advisors to discern for themselves what India might lose out of this misadventure, it mentioned.

“The geo-political impact of the ongoing turmoil in Myanmar cannot be overlooked, for which we have been monitoring the situation affecting our people under these aggravating circumstances,”it stated.

It is to be noted that the political upheaval in Myanmar and the burgeoning ethnic violence in Manipur are absolutely two different things and therefore they cannot be observed through the same lens, it mentioned.

“The present violence in Manipur is between two communities and for the record, it is hereby reiterated that we are not party to one or the other,” it stated. Meanwhile, the conflict in Myanmar is primarily a pro-democratic revolution against the military junta that has been in place since 2021, it added.
