Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police have arrested SK, SDC in-charge, Imphal West, on Wednesday for concealing facts of the order passed by DC, Imphal West and preparing false factsheet without signature of concerned SDC, Imphal West.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West on Thursday remanded SK, in-charge of SDC, Imphal West, Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma, to five-day police custody till February 6 to enable the investigating agency to investigate the case properly.
Vigilance had registered a case from an original pattadar (complainant), Khuraijam Biramani, that with the order of DC, Imphal West, passed on February 3, 2021, the ownership of the land under Patta No 2044 covered by CS Dag No 2258 measuring an area of 0.09143 Acre (0.03700 hectare) situated at Village No 42-Keishamthong was restored to Khuraijam Biramani Singh, the complainant from Luwangthem Priyokanta.
Luwangthem Priyokanta filed a petition to the deputy commissioner of Imphal West on January 17, 2022 requesting for rectification of land records which was already cancelled by the DC, Imphal West.
SK i/c of IW(C), S Jiten, was entrusted for conducting an enquiry on the petition. But he reported by concealing the facts of the order passed by DC, Imphal West on February 3, 2021.
Luwangthem Priyokanta was again entered in the records of the land in place of the original pattadar (complainant), Khuraijam Biramani, by Sunita Devi, computer operator, on the basis of the false factsheet without the signature of the concerned SDC, IW (C) prepared by Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma in collusion with Khaidem Ningthem Singh (computer operator).
Khuraijam Biramani Singh, who is the real owner and recorded pattadar of Patta No. 42/53/448(Old), 78/2018/2052 (New) covered by C.S. Dag No. 2255/2258 measuring an area of 0.09143 Acre (0.03700 Hectare) situated at Village No. 42-Keishamthong has been removed/deleted from the land records/system by Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma, SK in-Charge, SDC, IW (C), Manipur in collusion with Khaidem Ningthem Meetei, computer operator and Luwangthem Priyokanta Singh mentioned without any order from the competent authority.
From the submission of the Vigilance, the court found a prima facie case for the commission of offences u/s 167/200/409/120 B r/w 420 IPC on the part of (1) Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma, SK in-Charge, SDC, IW (C), Manipur, (2) Khaidem Ningthem Meetei, Computer Operator, SDC, IW(C), Manipur, (3) Luwangthem Priyokanta Singh aged about 35 years, son of L Dhaka Singh of Nepra Company, Thoubal district (4) Unknown officials of SDC, IW (C) and (5) Unknown private persons has been well established.
Hence, the court remanded Jiten in police custody for investigating the case properly.
