Imphal Police Station on Thursday served a notice to independent candidate for inner Lok Sabha election Moirangthem Totomshana Nongshaba under section 41 A of CrPC to present himself at the said police station by 11 am of Friday.
The notification signed by officer-in-charge of Imphal Police Station mentioned that in exercise of the power conferred under sub-section (1) of section 41 A CrPC the independent candidate should appear before the said police station by 11 am of Friday.
He was summoned in connection with the investigation of FIR case number 220(04)2024 IPS u/s120-B/153-A/500/503/505/506 IPC and 125 of Representation of Peoples’ Act, 1051.
It directed him to follow various directives mentioned in the notification.

The independent candidate will be arrested under section 41 A(3) and (4) of CrPC if he fails to attend or comply with the terms of the notice.
Polling of inner Lok Sabha election of Manipur will be held on April 19 in which six candidates including three independent candidates will be contesting for one seat of inner Manipur parliamentary constituency while 4 candidates for outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency for one seat which is to be held on April 29.
The independent candidate Moirangthem Totomshana Nongshaba during a discussion threatened Chief Minister N Biren Singh that he will kill the chief minister for the people of Manipur.

Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh has submitted a complaint against the independent candidate and OTT platform SK TV to CEO Manipur and RO Th Kirankumar for taking necessary action on Wednesday.
