Imphal Literary Festival to be held November 25 to 27

The three-day festival will be launched at auditorium of Manipur Press Club.

Sahitya Thoupang Lup (SATHOULUP) on Wednesday announced that it will be organising the Imphal Literature Festival from November 25 to 27 in various places of Manipur.

As held every year, SATHOULUP is set to organise the three-day literary festival from November 25, stated a release.

The festival will be launched at auditorium of Manipur Press Club in the presence of vice-chancellor of DM University Nongmaithem Rajmohun, convenor, Manipur Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi Nongmaithem Kirankumar and chairman, festival committee Saratchand Thiyam as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively. Poetry will be recited in the function, it added.

It stated that the second day of the festival will be held at Mandha Island Resort, Loktak where a programme will be held at night. On this day, apart from poetry recitation, storytelling, folk song and folk music will be presented. The last day will be held at Khengjonglang Theatre Complex Keirao, it mentioned.

Writers from other states will also take part in the literary festival. They are renowned writers, Prafulla Shiledar and Manoj Rupada from Maharashtra; renowned writer from Chattisgarh, Kailash Banwasi and journalist, theatre activist and filmmaker Rajkumar Soni.
