Curfew has been relaxed in Imphal East and Imphal West districts from 5 am to 6 pm for Sunday (September 10), official sources said.
There is a need to relax the restriction of movement to facilitate the general public to purchase the essential items, including medicines and food items, the magistrates of the two districts said in a release. They also cited development of law-and-order situations in the districts.
The relaxation shall, however, not apply to any gathering/large scale movement of persons/sit-in-protests/rally, etc. without obtaining permission from competent authority, the magistrates said.
All persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, Municipalities, petrol pumps, electricity, functioning of courts, media and to and fro movement of air passengers shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, they stated.
