Curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West districts has been relaxed from 5 am to 4 pm for Thursday (August 10) except for the road stretch from Tiddim Road-Kwakeithel Ningthemkol crossing to FCI-Lukram Leirak Road Crossing.
The relaxation has been made in view of a considerable improvement of law and order in Imphal East and Imphal West districts, the magistrates of the two districts stated.
Orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Wednesday stated that curfew has been relaxed in both districts to facilitate the general public purchase essential items, including medicines and food.
However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, the orders stated.
