The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur on Monday announced that the institute has commenced a 'Three-day Awareness Programme cum Crash Course on JEE' at its Mantripukhri city campus in Imphal West.
IIIT Manipur stated in a release that the institution organised the ‘Three-Day awareness programme-cum-crash course on JEE’ from Monday to Wednesday in order to train the students of Manipur for the competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to the top notch engineering institutes of India.
The inaugural function was attended by director of Education (S) government of Manipur L Nandakumar Singh as the chief guest and director of IIIT Manipur Krishnan Baskar as the president, it stated.
On the occasion, L Nandakumar spoke on the career opportunities for the students in the Information Technology (IT) sector, and he emphasised the efforts of the state government to make Manipur an IT hub for not only Northeast India but for the entire Southeast Asia as well, it mentioned.
Krishnan Baskar highlighted the various funding and scholarship opportunities from the government of India for the ‘disadvantaged section of the society’ in addition to the collateral free education loans from banks “which provides up to Rs 30 lakh for four years,” it added.
