The explosion took place at the gate of the colony where a godown for storing potato and onion, owned by one Ramnath Shahu, 55, is located. A workshop for repairing stone crusher machines is also located at the colony. The workshop is owned by one Dasarth Shahu, 66. The colony also includes a rent with a few people residing.

Although there were no reports of any casualty, the explosion caused some damage to the gate of the colony. It may be recalled that another IED blast had taken place at the same spot earlier.
