Hun Festival 2023 on April 16-19 in Kangpokpi

Union minister of Tribal Affairs is scheduled to attend the 'Hun' festival of the Thadou community in Manipur.

Hun Festival 2023 has been set for April 18 and 19 at Kangpokpi district headquarters, Manipur and, this time, the Union Tribal Affairs minister is expected to attend the festival, one of the biggest cultural festivals of the Thadou community.

According to Hun Festival Organizing Committee chairman Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip, the mega event will be attended by the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Ministry from a host of dignitaries, including the state Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

The festival will feature traditional ritual performances and folk dances in its pure traditional form and display of traditional dresses and artifacts. The festival will also showcase traditional games.

Miss and Mister Thadou contests with attractive cash prizes and modern musical entertainment sessions will be the main attractions for the evening sessions, Haokip said.

He also said that the screening of candidates for the Miss and Mister Thadou contest will be held on April 1 at 1st MR banquet hall, Imphal.
