Human skeleton found in Manipur's Phaileng hilltop

Bones suspected to be the skeleton of a male human were found at the jungle of Phaileng hilltop located 2 km uphill from Hathikhwa village which is located 7.1/2 km east of Sekmai Police Station, sources said.

According to sources, children of the village who were herding cattle found the bones a couple of days ago. After the villagers reported the incident at around 9.10 am on Thursday, the skeleton was handed over to RIMS mortuary.

According to police, the skeleton was found near a tree. A 1/2 feet long nylon rope was also found tied at the branch of the tree. The police suspect that the person must have died by hanging.

The skeletons included the bones of the spinal cord but the bones of skull and limbs were missing. A dark blue coloured jean with the logo ‘All Blood’ printed on it and a blue black coloured full shirt with ‘Jordan Jones’ printed on it were also found beside the skeleton.
