Suspected Kuki militants set ablaze three-four houses belonging to the Meitei community at Meitei Sabal Leikai, Torbung, Churachandpur district at around 6 pm while security allegedly remained mute spectators on Sunday, sources said.

According to reliable sources, it is reported that some 15-20 suspected heavily armed Kuki militants fired several rounds at Meitei Sabal Leikai around the houses resided by the Meitei communities that have already been vandalised during the communal clash. Afterwards, the suspected Kuki militants set fire to the houses. 

The sources also alleged that the personnel of Assam Rifles and BSF, who were deployed to control any unwanted incidents at Kangvai village, remained silent spectators.
