The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised its first quarterly Hindi lecture-cum-workshop titled “Official Language Implementation in North East” at Banting Hall, RIMS, on Saturday.
The event was convened by the Official Language Cell, RIMS, Imphal, in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, and resolutions adopted by the Official Language Implementation Committee.
During the programme, RIMS director G Sunil Kumar Sharma spoke on various aspects of using Hindi in office environments. He emphasised that Hindi serves as an important means of communication for individuals belonging to different religious communities residing in various parts of the country.
RIMS MS N Sanjib Singh also acknowledged the significant developments witnessed in recent years and expressed pride in the institute’s adoption of Hindi as the official language.
The workshop was attended by Dean of DM University, S Lanchenba Meitei and HOD of Department of Hindi, Manipur University, Akhilesh Kumar Shankhdhar.
The workshop was also attended by the Principal of the College of Nursing, Heads of Departments, officials, and staff members, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting Hindi language proficiency and fostering effective communication channels.
