Farmers of Heirok assembly constituency on Monday came together and donated more than 4,000 bags of an estimated 50 kg of paddy produce to MLA Thokchom Radheshyam.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Radheshyam said the sacrificial spirits of the farmers have made him proud as an MLA of the assembly constituency. Extending his gratitude to the farmers, he announced that the presented items will be donated to the underprivileged households of Heirok assembly constituency irrespective of their political affiliations. Assuring to help the households who do not have paddy fields of their own, he affirmed that he will get rid of starvation from Heirok.
Addressing the ‘Go to Fields’ mission which had been initiated in Heirok assembly constituency earlier this year, he added that under the mission, many canals and small dams were constructed along with the timely distribution of fertilisers, which aided the farmers hugely in harvesting with ease. The donation of the produce by the farmers due to the satisfactory agricultural aid, is a concrete indication of the success of the ‘Go to Fields’ mission, he continued.
Stating that the united efforts and sense of oneness among the people of Heirok assembly constituency is crucial, MLA Radheshyam expressed that such unity will enforce the sign of peace and development in the state.
