A campaign titled “Healing the Pain” has been initiated to provide solace and support to the victims of ethnic violence who have been displaced from their homes.
The campaign, which commenced on Monday at the Relief Camp located at the Government Music and Dance College Palace Compound in Imphal, Manipur, aims to extend its outreach to other relief camps in the near future, according to an official release.
It stated that “Healing the Pain” was organized on the occasion of the International Dance Day on Monday especially for displaced brothers and sisters in the relief camp away from home due to the outbreak of ethnic violence in Manipur on 3rd May, 2023.
“Healing the Pain” Campaign was organized by National Awardee Manipuri Dance Exponent Dr Khangembam Khoni jointly with Meetei Indigenous Thang-Ta and Cultural Institute, Imphal supported by Phunga Heritage.
The idea of the campaign is to share a moment with our brothers and sisters in the Relief Camp and to stand by them, the release mentioned.
On the occasion the team also showcased the rich Meitei cultural arts forms. An effort through Arts and Culture to bring relief to mental stress and lead a life with a ray of hope and strengthen them with moral support, the release added.
