Manipur BJP under the aegis of Athletic Association of Manipur will be organising ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Manipur Marathon, 2022’ on August 12, as a part of the celebration of 75 years of India Independence.
State general secretary, BJP Premananda Meeitei said the present government has been celebrating 75th years of India’s Independence as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government is aiming to hoist the Indian Tricolour flag at over 2 crores households, he said.
As a part of the celebration, the state BJP will be holding various programmes based on patriotism from August 9 to 15 at various places of Manipur. Apart from these, it will be organising the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Manipur Marathon, 2022’ on August 12, he said.
The marathon will have male and female categories and chief minister N Biren Singh along with state BJP president A Sharda Devi will flag off the marathon from Maibam Lotpa Ching, Bishnupur district and it will culminate at Khuman Lampak Main stadium.
For each category in the marathon, the first prize will be a sum of Rs 1 lakh each, second prize will be Rs 50,000 and third prize will be Rs 20,000 with certificates. There will be consolation prizes for 4th to 15th position holders with cash and certificates.
The participation forms for the marathon will be available at BJP offices of state including party head office.
