The Communist Party of India Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) on Sunday expressed apprehension about the alarming situation facing the Manipuri diasporas in Mizoram and urged the state government to ensure the safety and security of all Meiteis living in Mizoram.
The CPI-MSC, in a release, noted the statement issued by a former Mizoram-based outfit to the Manipuri Diasporas to leave the state for their own safety. It mounted pressure on the state government to send a chartered flight to Mizoram to evacuate all the Meiteis living there.
It further appealed to nominate a government representative to oversee the situation and ensure all the Meiteis are safe. The CPI-MSC has also met with the Mizoram Manipuri Association regarding the same, it mentioned.
