Government to resume biometric attendance system in Manipur

All government offices/ agencies bodies/ public sector undertakings under the State government will implement the mandatory biometric attendance system with effect from June 1.

The Manipur government will be resuming mandatory biometric attendance system for employees with effect from June 1. The same was temporarily suspended in the wake of the alarming spread of Covid-19 in the state.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms in this regard, all government offices/ agencies bodies/ public sector undertakings under the state government will implement the mandatory biometric attendance system.

The biometric attendance system is to be effective two months after the government declared a five-day working week from April 1.

The order further said that the implementation of the mandatory biometric attendance system in all the government offices is in line with the cabinet decision taken on April 21 and intimation of the pay implementation cell of the finance department.
