Aiena Naorem who halis from Kakching Ningthou Leikai, Kakching district is the second child of Naorem Biren and Naorem Ongbi Ibemchou. Overwhelmed by her achievement, she expressed her disbelief at securing the top position in the exam, stating that while she was confident in her abilities, she did not anticipate such outstanding results. She was content by the result as her hard work paid off.

Aiena’s father is a retired Indian army serviceman and her mother is a housewife. Due to financial problems in the family, Aiena stayed at her aunt’s house to prepare for Class 11 and 12 examination as her parents have been working as tenant farmers at a fish farm in Lousi Pat, Kakching to help in the economic condition of the family.

She said that she worked hard for the exam by listening to the lectures of the teachers attentively and she consulted her uncle, Rameshwar when in doubt. She went for private tuition in Economics but it was short lived. “One can secure good marks without private tuition if we attend classes regularly at school and must not be shy in asking doubts,” she added.

Aiena emphasised the importance of regular class attendance and daily reading. She credited her success to her aunt, Ibemcha who is a twin sister of her mother and her husband Moirangthem Rameshwar, a retired commerce lecturer of Kakching higher secondary school, her father and mother and teachers of her school.

Aiena's parents reminisced about her childhood dreams of becoming a doctor, but financial limitations steered her towards a career in commerce and she grew up very studious. Her uncle and aunt greatly helped in shaping her to who she had become today, said her parents.
