The Communist Party of India Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) on Tuesday lashed out at the double-engine BJP governments at the Centre and State, alleging that it has noticeably failed to solve the prevailing conflict in the state which has crossed four months.
Thousands of people, including womenfolk and youths attempted to storm Torbung to stop the construction of Kuki bunkers, a release stated.
Numerous people sustained injuries, it stated, adding that the people are being thrown into a pit of suffering.
Although the government is well equipped to maintain law and order in the state, the people are left to be sitting ducks in the terror attacks by Kuki militants, it stated.
It questioned whether the large number of security forces deployed in the State is here to defend the state or disintegrate it.
It also alleged the government of basking in wealth, while the people face untold suffering. The government has taken no decisive actions to solve the issue, but remained a silent spectator in the mayhem, it stated.
It also demanded that the National Highway 39 be opened immediately, stating that the blockade is pushing the people, especially the poor, to the point of starvation. It further urged the government to live up to its words instead of being all bark and no bite.
