In an effort to spread awareness about the importance of emergency medicine in our society, a one-day CME programe on emergency medicine was held at Hotel Imphal in Imphal.
The programme, organised by the Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI), offered attendees a unique opportunity to learn about the latest advances in emergency medicine and network with many known figures in the field of medical industries.
Speaking to the media, lifetime member of SEMI and consultant emergency medicine, Dr Kangjam Lakshmi, stressed the importance of the golden hour during treatment of emergency cases.
She said as many lack emergency medicine knowledge, the workshop aims to insights shared by our distinguished speakers will make for an enlightening experience for all attendees.
Pointing out that Manipur is in the second level in terms of emergency medicine, she said with the improvement of hospital resources and quality, it is believed that Manipur will soon reach the level one status in emergency medicine.
The programme was also attended by consultant of Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Dr Ramyajit Lahiri; consultant of BP Poddar Hospital Dr Sudip Chakraborty; and consultant of American Oncology Institute Dr Tamphasana Wairokpam as resource persons.
